Bio & Background

Kate has more than 25 years of business experience in various leadership and HR consulting roles domestically and internationally.  In addition to holding numerous senior management and business owner positions in the U.S. and S.E. Asia, Kate is recognized for her experience in organizational development, executive / career coaching and employee relations consulting.  She has guided her clients through significant organizational change and led a variety of workforce development & performance management initiatives to achieve business objectives. Understanding that employees are the engine of an organization, Kate strives toward resolution and adoption of a culture that supports employee development and overall well-being of employees.

She draws on many years of HR consulting including outplacement and working with individuals in transition through a company decision such as a lay-off or involuntary termination.  Kate has also worked extensively with employees in difficult situations where they may be underperforming or not understanding expectations and responsibilities assigned to them.  Her expertise with personality / workplace assessments (Insights, Birkman & Lumina Spark), emotional intelligence and process / systems thinking offer a medium for thoughtful and non-threatening conversations or investigation if needed.  Kate has significant experience in the following industries: high tech, information technology, publishing, healthcare, financial services, retail, media, software, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, non-profit, manufacturing, education and government.

Project Highlights

  • Co-authored and co-designed video simulation scripts of workplace employee scenarios as well as content for state-of-the-art daylong leadership development simulation.  Delivered the new workshop as Master/Lead Facilitator for the Management Challenge simulation over an eighteen-month period at more than a dozen national corporate headquarters.

  • Conceived, developed and delivered a six-month series of leadership development sessions (to various clients) that include: feedback & coaching, performance evaluation, communication skills, conflict resolution, team building, change management, customer service, motivation, hiring, and delegation.

  • Coached a variety of teams and individuals on interpersonal effectiveness (EQ) in the workplace to enhance work and/or career objectives.

  • Facilitated client company’s and/or senior management teams discussions to reach consensus on their core values, mission & vision statements, and culture and value propositions.

  • Collaborated with and coached client company senior management teams in a yearlong process of evaluating strategy, systems, structure, talent and skills/competencies to determine business & workforce gaps and needs.

  • Managed organizational change by creating a business case for the achievement of stakeholder aims, and effectively communicating the reasons for the change to bring about leadership commitment and align organization and group expectations.

  • Coached & consulted with over several hundred individuals on leadership development and/or career transition/goals.

  • Advised, coached and consulted with two top tier lobby firms in Texas on leadership, team dynamics, individual & organization development. 

  • Talent & Goal Development Coach for Texas MBA+ Leadership Program, McCombs School of Business, The University of Texas at Austin.
